Autonomous Training Courses (non accredited)
There are two principle autonomous training courses currently on offer at the WTTC:
1. Command for Haul - Service
This course is specifically designed to deliver theory and practical execution on the MineStar Command for Haul system. Successful completion will see the student develop knowledge of componentry and operation of the Command system to allow calibration and effective troubleshooting.
2. Maintenance in the Autonomous Operating Zone (AOZ)
This course is a suite of modules and is aimed at anyone who enters the Autonomous Operating Zone (AOZ).
These modules are a combination of theory and practical execution to provide the student with the skills and system knowledge required to safely enter the AOZ and interact with leader vehicles (LVs) and autonomous mining trucks (AMTs). Students will learn:
- safe systems of autonomous operation;
- how LVs and AMTs interact;
- the process to call AMTs to maintenance areas;
- how to safely approach down AMTs in the AOZ; and
- the use of Terrain in grading and loading applications in order to monitor and manage AMTs in the AOZ.
Combined with the WesTrac Institute Guildford Campus, which offers additional technology and post trade training, the WTTC is proof that WesTrac is the industry's leader when it comes to building the skills needed to operate mines of the future.
