WesTrac (WA) has been recognised for its industry-leading training and educational services, receiving the 2024 Large Employer of the Year award earlier this month. Presented at the WA Training Awards, held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, this prestigious award recognises excellence and high-level performance by large, registered training organisations in the area of vocational education and training.
WesTrac (WA) has delivered more than 6,000 training sessions to WesTrac employees and more than 1,800 to external customers. WesTrac (WA) currently trains 180 metro and regional WesTrac apprentices and a further 200 customer apprentices.
Students and apprentices attend the organisation’s purpose-built training facilities, including the state-of-the-art WesTrac Institute which has been operating for more than 30 years. WesTrac also operates the internationally recognised WesTrac Technology Training Centre in Collie - the only autonomous training centre in the Southern Hemisphere.
The 2024 Large Employer of the Year award is an acknowledgement by industry of the dedication WesTrac has to educating, and upskilling the mining, construction and agriculture workforces. Sage Civil Managing Director Asha Russell has taken delivery of a Cat® 320 Next Gen Excavator with a unique boom painted pink by WesTrac. Asha uses pink and purple machinery to spark important conversations about attracting women to the civil industry.
