Cat Global Operator Challenge 2022-2023

TAKE ON THE WORLD

Caterpillar® is on a quest to find the best… the best equipment operator in the world.

In the 2022-2023 Cat Global Operator Challenge (GOC), challengers show off their speed, agility and accuracy in a series of skilled based tests on a variety of Cat machines.

Here’s a recap of Day 1 of the GOC Regional Final in Japan:

Heats

NSW/ACT Heats

• Took place in Newcastle between August 9-12. 
• 12 finalists made it through (click here to meet them)

WA Heats

• Took place in Perth between July 28-29
• 8 finalists made it through (click here to meet them)

Challenges

At the knockout heats above, challengers were put their through their paces with an array of challenges on different machines. Here are two of the challenges:

• The Cat Wheel Loader Challenge
• The Cat Backhoe Challenge

Finals

NSW/ACT Final

• Took place in Newcastle on Thursday September 8
• Goulburn's Jack Divall was crowned the best operator in New South Wales (media release)

WA Final

• Took place in Perth on Saturday August 27
• Kalgoorlie's Jake Myers was crowned the best operator in Western Australia (media release)

Regional Final

Caterpillar flew Jack Divall and Jake Myers to Chichibu, Japan for the Asia Pacific final on October 18, 2022. They competed in various challenges across a two-day event.

The winner from this event will then be taken to the grand final at CONEXPO-CON/AGG at Las Vegas in 2023.
