With our huge inventory of new, used and rental equipment, WesTrac has the right machine for the job.
Experienced technicians who can troubleshoot complex hydraulic circuits and provide strong aftermarket support for all hydraulic repairs are some of the key benefits Cat® equipment dealer WesTrac offers customers.
That’s according to WesTrac Business Development Manager Daniel Moxon, who says WesTrac continues to invest in state-of-the-art machining and hydraulic equipment to ensure they have the capability and capacity to service customers.
“We offer end-to-end solutions for our customers and provide a wide variety of hydraulic service offerings including cylinder, pump, motor and valve reconditioning along with all other types of Cat hydraulic equipment.
Select WesTrac workshops across WA and NSW are equipped with machinery including Computer Numerical Control (CNC) lathes, CNC mills, cylinder honing benches, High Velocity Oxygen Fuel (HVOF) equipment, laser cladding equipment and rotary welding equipment, which can cater for all types of cylinder repair requirements.
With cylinder benches accommodating cylinders up to 15 meters in length ensure we can service all types of Cat construction, mining and underground cylinders.
WesTrac's onsite HVOF and laser cladding equipment means recoating of cylinder rods can be achieved with minimal downtime. Both coating processes offer a variety of options that offer advantages over hard chrome being turn time, superior abrasive and corrosion resistance and thicker deposition tolerances.
Daniel said, being a cylinder repair provider that can dissemble, recoat cylinder rods, re-machine components, reassemble cylinders and test cylinders in-house, results in faster repair turnaround times for our customers.
“These in-house capabilities give us more control over cylinder repair lead times due to the reduced need to rely on third party vendors for engineering services”.
The team also specialises in hydraulic pump and motor repairs, providing rebuild and testing for open and closed loop pumps. WesTrac have multiple variable speed drive test rigs across our branch network with data logging available on request.
“Our data logging capabilities, inclusive of fluid cleanliness and temperature result in improved quality control that provides a better outcome for our customers,” he said.
In addition to WesTrac’s pump and motor test facilities our in-house spherical and machine flat lapping machines enable the reconditioning of pump and motor components that fall within Cat’s rework specification guidelines. This service means worn components can be reconditioned instead of replaced, reducing overall repair costs.
WesTrac’s hydraulic offerings also include but are not limited to non-destructive testing, hydraulic fluid sampling analysis, hydraulic hose replacements, cylinder strut overhauls and roof support cylinder conversion/shock load testing.
